Two of the 4 general temporary assistance positions, 1 P-4 and 1 P-3 Training Officers, and 1 P-4 continuing post, currently funded from the support account, design, deliver, upgrade, harmonize and evaluate three ongoing cross-cutting leadership programmes: the senior mission leaders’ programme, a two-week course, conducted twice annually at a host Member State, for 26 candidates from Member States, the Secretariat, the United Nations agencies, programmes and funds); the senior leaders’ programme, a compulsory orientation course for all mission personnel at the D-2 level and above, conducted twice annually in New York; and SMART, an intensive year-long programme involving distance learning and three week-long workshops for two groups of 40 candidates.

In the second year, the aim is to clear all the areas identified to contain mines and carry out an environmental rehabilitation of the target area.

The concrete measures recommended by the Working Group include the adoption of specific legislation on non-discrimination; the development of a national campaign to promote multiculturalism and respect for the dignity of the Afro-Ecuadorian people; the adoption of measures to reduce the educational gap that exists between Afro-Ecuadorians and the wider population; the introduction of ethno-education for people of African descent; the strengthening of Afro-Ecuadorian civil society; measures to eliminate racism and discrimination in the media; further efforts to encourage participation of persons of African descent in public administration; the establishment of a centre for Afro-Ecuadorian studies; the further development of free legal aid services; the creation within the office of the Ombudsman of a sub-unit dedicated to issues related to people of African descent and the creation of special programmes to promote the education of women of African descent.

(c) That the Country had submitted annual implementation reports in the form of Appendix 4-A (“Format of Implementation Reports and Plans”) covering each previous calendar year; that it had achieved a significant level of implementation of activities initiated with previously approved tranches; and that the rate of disbursement of funding available from the previously approved tranche was more than 20 per cent; and (d) That the Country has submitted an annual implementation plan in the form of Appendix 4-A covering each calendar year until and including the year for which the funding schedule foresees the submission of the next tranche or, in case of the final tranche, until completion of all activities foreseen.

The estimates and assumptions that have a significant risk of causing a material adjustment to the carrying amounts of assets and liabilities within the next financial year are discussed below.

These studies concern: the indivisibility, interrelation and interdependence of all human rights; the enforceability of economic, social and cultural rights; the state of the art with regard to indicators to measure the implementation of economic, social and cultural rights and in particular the right to education and the right to take part in cultural life and the right to education.

a) To define “pesticide” and other related terms in a way consistent with Codex; b) To provide a list of maximum residue limits (MRLs) and extraneous maximum residue limits (EMRLs), to adopt MRLs/EMRLs recommended by Codex as the backbone as well as the Codex’s classification of foods; c) To prohibit the import and sale of the concerned food for which no MRL/EMRL had been specified, unless DFEH was satisfied that the detected level would not be dangerous or prejudicial to health; d) To provide a list of exempted substances; e) To accept applications for adding / revising MRLs and exempted substances; f) To dovetail the proposed Regulation with the registration of pesticides for use on food crops under the PO, Cap. 133; and g) To commence the proposed Regulation after a two-year grace period.

She proposed to divide the Commission’s work into five debates: (i) a debate on item 5.9 – Follow-up to the Round Table of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport and item 5.10 – Proclamation by the United Nations General Assembly of an international year for physical education and sport; (ii) a general debate on item 3.1 – Preparation of the Draft Programme and Budget for 2006-2007; (iii) a general debate on Major Programme I of the Draft Programme and Budget for 2004-2005; (iv) a debate on items 5.4, 5.17, 5.20, 7.5 and 7.7; and (v) consideration of the recommendations of the Commission concerning proposed resolutions in Draft 32 C/5 and recommendations of the Executive Board thereon, draft decisions proposed under items 5.9, 5.20, 7.5 and 7.7, and draft resolutions submitted by Member States concerning document 32 C/5 and other items.

One CE post is grossly insufficient to cope with these duties together with the additional workload due to resumption of HOS as well as those arising from other housing initiatives and the increased complexity in public housing planning and development works, such as the redevelopment of aged estates; increasing number of engineering feasibility studies; active participation in public consultations; increasing number of supporting projects under CWRF Head 711; more infrastructure improvement works and contract administration works; increasing number of engineering researches on development and standard to meet new environmental and engineering requirements; and enhancement of land surveying services.

Three broad types of action – preparation of education policy reviews and analyses; support to national education policy-making and planning; and development of thematic studies on key emerging issues in education – contribute to the realization of this expected result.

Activities under the IYPE science and outreach programmes during the three-year period had a strong mobilizing effect around the globe, not only among Earth scientists but also among the general public, especially young people.

That is because Israel’s acceptance of the Arab Peace Initiative would guarantee the end of its occupation of all Syrian territories occupied since 1967 and the remaining Lebanese territories occupied in the same year and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, and because it would guarantee an agreed resolution of the issue of Palestine refugees in accordance with General Assembly resolution 194 (III) and would secure for Israel peace agreements with all Arab States and normal relations with 35 other Islamic States.

This report will reflect work on the three Standing Agenda Items, as well as a report on the other item scheduled for discussion during that year.

The Council postponed the election of two members from African States, two members from Asian States, one member from Eastern European States, one member from Latin American and Caribbean States and one member from Western European and other States for a three-year term beginning on 1 January 2010.

Foreign exchange gains and losses resulting from the settlement of such transactions and from the translation at year-end exchange rates of monetary assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies are recognised in the statement of comprehensive income within ‘Administrative expenses’.

Subject to Section 88 of the Act and Bye-law 153A, a printed copy of the Directors’ report, accompanied by the balance sheet and profit and loss account, including every document required by law to be annexed thereto, made up to the end of the applicable financial year and containing a summary of the assets and liabilities of the Company under convenient heads and a statement of income and expenditure, together with a copy of the Auditors’ report, shall be sent to each person entitled thereto at least twenty-one (21) days before the date of the annual general meeting and laid before the Company in annual general meeting in accordance with the requirements of the Act provided that this Bye-law shall not require a copy of those documents to be sent to any person whose address the Company is not aware of or to more than one of the joint holders of any shares or debentures.

In comparison with the previous year, the reaction of the security forces to cases attributed to their members was more appropriate and investigations were initiated under the ordinary justice system.

4.15 To allow sufficient time for laboratories (both private and government) to develop testing methods for pesticides as listed in the new subsidiary legislation and the trade in complying with the new regulatory requirement, it is proposed to grant a two-year grace period for this new piece of subsidiary legislation.

Data such as highresolution topographical information, which would provide the fundamental baseline for coastal vulnerability studies, wave impact and inundation modelling, is almost entirely absent; thus much of what is understood regarding coastal vulnerability in the Pacific islands region is inferred or based on inadequate baseline data.

During the year, no emoluments were paid by the Group to the Company's directors or any of the five highest paid individuals as an inducement to join, or upon joining the Group, or as compensation for loss of office (2008: Nil).

In the long run, the network would operate independently with the secretarial support of ESCAP and undertake studies as requested by governmental agencies, ESCAP and other organizations/institutions.

Areas to be addressed shall include: prophylaxis, studies on pathogenicity and virulence, diagnostic techniques, aerobiology, detection, treatment, toxinology, physical protection, decontamination and other related research.

Such risks and uncertainties include, but are not limited to, lack of market adoption for Leadis' capacitive touch controller ICs or the haptics technology, delays in ramping these new products into production, delays in the integration of our products into consumer electronic devices, our reliance on third-party manufacturers, general portable electronics and semiconductor industry trends, and other risks detailed from time to time in Leadis' reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission including its Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2007 and Form 10-Q for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.

The Company’s bye-laws deviate from Code Provision A.4.2 as it provides that one-third of the directors for the time being (save for the Chairman or Managing Director), or if their number is not three nor three nor a multiple of three, then the number nearest to one-third, shall retire from office and being eligible, offer themselves for re-election at the annual general meetings and that any new director appointed by the Board during the year shall hold office until the next following annual general meeting after appointment, and he/ she shall be eligible for re-election.

On Government’s support, the Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) could explore the introduction of accreditation service for more international recognized schemes while the Government Laboratory could conduct technical seminars to share testing methodologies and skills, and to organize proficiency tests / inter-laboratory comparison studies.

In particular, the Meeting was informed that the Summit, through its Beijing Declaration, had (a) noted that the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) data-sharing implementation guidelines and action plan and the establishment of the operational GEOSS common infrastructure significantly improved access to global Earth observation data and resources; (b) endorsed the refined GEO targets, aligned with the 10-year implementation plan; (c) urged all Governments and organizations to sustain and enhance both in situ and space-based observation systems; and (d) called on international organizations and donor agencies to further contribute to the implementation of GEOSS.

Finally, while recognizing the need for further efforts to protect civilians in armed conflict, we hold the view that the establishment of any new mechanism within the Security Council should be carefully considered and studied in depth before a decision is made in order to avoid operational and institutional overlapping, as well as negative financial implications.

The Commission adopted draft resolutions entitled “Modalities for the second review and appraisal of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, 2002”, “Policies and programmes involving youth”, “Further promotion of equalization of opportunities by, for and with persons with disabilities and mainstreaming disability in the development agenda”, “Preparation for and observance of the twentieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family” and “Social dimensions of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development”.

The Group assesses annually the residual value and the useful life of the plant and equipment and if the expectation differs from the original estimate, such a difference may impact the depreciation in the year and the estimate will be changed in the future period.
