The inordinate length of translation times, especially in cases of selfrepresented appellants, calls for greater explanation than suitable for a report of this size, but it can be said that efforts are under way to more effectively liaise with the supervisors in the Conference and Language Services Section on a continual basis in order to assess progress and determine the need for requesting prioritization of specific translations, and to readdress the internal requirement of the Conference and Language Services Section that the revision process for translation of a judgement must be accomplished as a whole, rather than volume by volume (which would allow for gradual release of translated portions).

Some representatives considered that the principles underlying the window were nonetheless useful and should be kept as a guide when considering how to prioritize projects to be financed from the window in the future.

The representative of Germany pointed out that climate-related issues arose under several different agenda items, such as items 9(c) (Work programmes), 11(a) (Prioritization of HCFC phase-out technologies to minimize other impacts on the environment), and 14 (Facility for additional income from loans and other sources).

A strategic vision for the sub-sector has been elaborated and the main issues and lines of action in the short term leading to poverty “alleviation” have been defined and prioritized.

On 26 April 2011, the Permanent Mission notified the Secretary-General of the supply of personal protective equipment to the National Transitional Council as well as the provision of a small team of military advisers to mentor and advise the National Transitional Council headquarters on how it might organize its internal structures, prioritize its resources and improve communications (S/2011/270).

The attention of the Sectors will be drawn to the need to review delegates travel expenditures to detect ways of reducing costs, to encourage the use of economy travel for all Delegates’ Travel, prioritize the number of conferences and delegates to meet allocated budgets, and ensure that coding to Delegates’ Travel accounts is correct.

The Division identified the top Organization risks that may hinder the achievement of its objectives, the possible causes of such risks and the related key controls to prioritize audit assignments in 2011/12.
