Located on the southwest coast of Japan’s main island of Honshu, Hikari produces silicon wafers for the semiconductor industry and monocrystals for other Siltronic sites and for the solar industry.

As for colouring matter, one out of 62 tested samples was detected with an industrial dye namely Crocein Scarlet 7B, resulting in 1.6% non-compliance rate.
