- an industrial city and the principal port of Bulgaria, on the Danube; pop. 156,959 (2008). Turkish during the Middle Ages, it was captured by Russia in 1877 and ceded to Bulgaria.鲁塞（保加利亚工业城市和主要港口, 位于多瑙河畔, 2008年人口156,959; 中世纪时属土耳其, 1877年被俄国占领, 后割让给保加利亚）。
