Manchuria
/mænˈtʃʊərɪə/- a mountainous region forming the NE portion of China, now comprising the provinces of Jilin, Liaoning, and Heilongjiang. In 1932 it was declared an independent state by Japan and renamed Manchukuo; it was restored to China in 1945.满洲（中国东北部多山地区, 由今吉林省、辽宁省和黑龙江省组成, 1932年日本宣布其为独立国家并改名为满洲国, 1945年该地区回归中国）。
