- an ancient Semitic language of Ethiopia, which survives as the liturgical language of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. It is the ancestor of the modern Ethiopian languages such as Amharic.古兹语, 古埃塞俄比亚语（埃塞俄比亚古老的闪族语言, 现仅用于埃塞俄比亚东正教教会, 是阿姆哈拉语等现代埃塞俄比亚语言的起源）。 亦称ETHIOPIC.
