Warburg1, Aby (Moritz) (1866-1929), German art historian. From 1905 he built up a library in Hamburg, dedicated to preserving the classical heritage of Western culture. Warburg2, Otto Heinrich (1883-1970), German biochemist. He pioneered the use of the techniques of chemistry for biochemical investigations, especially for his work on intracellular respiration.
