Cherenkov
/tʃəˈreŋkɒf/- Cherenkov, Pavel (Alekseevich) (亦作Cerenkov)(1904-90), Soviet physicist. He investigated the effects of high-energy particles and shared the 1958 Nobel Prize for Physics for discovering the cause of blue light (now called CERENKOV RADIATION) emitted by radioactive substances underwater.切伦科夫, 帕维尔(·阿列克谢耶维奇)(1904-1990, 前苏联物理学家, 研究高能粒子的作用, 发现水底放射性物质放射出的蓝光的成因, 此蓝光现称“切伦科夫辐射”, 为此于1958年与他人共获诺贝尔物理奖)。
