Pompey
/ˈpɒmpɪ/- (106-48 BC) , Roman general and statesman; Latin name Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus; known as Pompey the Great. He founded the First Triumvirate, but later quarrelled with Caesar, who defeated him at the battle of Pharsalus.
