In Italy and Spain, wage growth is picking up even as unemployment rises, because of contract clauses allowing workers to be compensated for higher-than-expected inflation.

The nullity and voidness of the clauses set out in the preceding paragraph shall not prejudice the validity of the other clauses of the contract.

Apart from the required clauses specified in the preceding paragraph, other contents in a Labour contract may be agreed upon through consultation by the parties involved.
