Avantpop (or Avant-pop) is an American artistic movement which derived from postmodernism in the 1990s.Mark Amerika maintains that Avantpop has replaced postmodernism: "Now that Postmodernism is dead and we're in the process of finally burying it, something else is starting to take hold in the cultural imagination and I propose that we call this new phenomenon Avant-Pop"
