It is not known whether Cubicin passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby.

The group was started in July 2010 by Shell Walker, a midwife in Phoenix, who had helped clients find breast-milk donors when they had a health crisis or other problem that kept them from nursing.

She took to nursing easily, was breast-fed exclusively for six or seven months, and ate little else even after that.
