Steel rail has 3 rail base defects: bottom defect, scab and bottom crack.

This thesis recommends the design for principle that the distance measurement system of rail base on distance laser sensor.

The rail is an exclusive line for coal transport between Urumqi and Fukang, a major coal production base in Xinjiang.
