Qualitative analysis included assessment of presence of dissection, plaque composition and plaque topography. Results The internal elastic lamina area was significantly enlarged after balloon angioplasty ［(6.67±1.45 ）mm2 vs （8.14±1.13）mm2 ，P＜0.05］.
RESULTS:(1) An intact layer of internal elastic lamina was composed of elastic fibers, and the folds looked like wave. The number of the folds of internal elastic lamina reduced with age, so as the amplitude.
Results the saccular aneurysms were successfully induced immediately by destroying the intima and internalelasticlamina at the bifurcation of the carotid arteries in 30 rats.
