Fraunhofer Society:

The Fraunhofer Society (Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e. V. — “Fraunhofer Society for the advancement of applied research”, /ˈfraʊnhoːfɐ/) is a German research organization with 67 institutes spread throughout Germany, each focusing on different fields of applied science (as opposed to the Max Planck Society, which works primarily on basic science). It employs around 23,000 people, mainly scientists and engineers, with an annual research budget of about €1.7 billion.

弗劳恩霍夫应用研究促进协会（Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e. V.），是德国也是欧洲最大的应用科学研究机构，成立于1949年3月26日，以德国科学家、发明家和企业家约瑟夫·弗劳恩霍夫的名字命名。
