President, the Civic Party's position of supporting "resignation en masse of Members returned from five geographical constituencies as a referendum" is based on our realization that Hong Kong people all look to the pan-democratic camp for leadership in the struggle for greater room for compromise, in the hope that the political system of Hong Kong can thus take a step forward along the path leading to genuine universal suffrage.
