"Chlamydia trachomatis", an obligate intracellular human pathogen, is one of four bacterial species in the genus "Chlamydia". "C. trachomatis" is a gram-negative bacterium, therefore its cell wall components retain the counter-stain safranin and appear pink under a light microscope.

砂眼衣原體:

砂眼衣原體（CT, "Chlamydia trachomatis" OR "C.trachomatis"）是一種「絕對寄生病原體」（obligate intracellular pathogen），屬革蘭氏陰性（Gram negative）微生物（用革蘭氏染色法不能將其細胞壁染成紫色），可導致砂眼，還會引致人類泌尿生殖系統的感染，女性的生殖系統比男性更容易受到感染。
