Section II, title X, article 328 of the Family Code states: “When the health, safety, morality or education of a minor are jeopardized or insufficiently protected owing to the immoral behaviour or disability of the father and mother or of the person accorded the right of guardianship, or when, owing to misconduct or unruly behaviour, a minor gives these individuals cause for very serious dissatisfaction or renders them incapable of exercising guidance, the juvenile judge may on his own initiative, at the behest of the public prosecutor or at the behest of the father, mother or guardian, rule that the minor shall, for a period not to extend beyond the date of his coming of age, be visited regularly by a social worker or placed on probation.

These savings stem from the provision of more cost-effective ground handling services in-house in Khartoum and El Obeid for the full period rather than contracting out to commercial vendors, the reduction of air flight hours, as improvements in maintenance and repairs to helipads have allowed for more efficient air fleet management that result in lower requirements for helicopters to position or reposition in Kadugli, the reduction in the holding of spare parts as major maintenance work for ageing medium and heavy vehicle fleets, as accident repair and painting is outsourced, the reduction in vehicle replacements, as vehicles are redeployed from Khartoum to the sectors and team sites in support of Comprehensive Peace Agreement-related activities, and dispatch service is outsourced in part in Khartoum to accommodate the increase in demand, as fewer vehicles are available.

(c) To underline the importance of continued efforts by member States and the Council of Arab Ministers of Health to improve health care standards by developing and upgrading health care units and applying a family health regime, particularly in rural, marginalized and deprived areas, improving the health services provided to women, children and ageing persons, and focusing on building the technical capacities of health teams.

To add "coupled with the fact that the Government's policies are not beneficial to young people," after "network era,"; and to delete "and (d) starting from education and social culture, to allocate resources to enhance the quality of the network citizens, and to promote a way of communication based on reasons, mutual trust and mutual respect, thereby bringing together social wisdom effectively" immediately before the full stop and substitute with "(d) to promote an open attitude in society towards young people's political commentaries, including the ways they express their opinions, so as to uphold their right of expression; (e) to improve the voter registration system, so that young people reaching the age of 18 can participate in voting as early as possible; and (f) to amend the Telecommunications Ordinance and broadcasting policies to provide the airwaves and the television broadcasting platform for young people to fully exercise their freedom of speech and expression.

However, many factors must be taken into consideration in comparing results, such as the nature of the work carried out by the organization, location, age and type of facilities, and climate and country-related factors such as the nature of the electric power available in the host county.

At its sixty-fifth session, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit to it at its sixty-seventh session a report compiling successful interventions and strategies, as well as the gaps, in addressing the gender dimensions of the problem of trafficking in persons and providing recommendations on the strengthening of human rights-based, gender- and age-sensitive approaches within comprehensive and balanced efforts to address trafficking in persons (resolution 65/190).

Save as disclosed above, at no time during the six months ended 30 June 2002 was the Company or any of its subsidiaries a party to any arrangements to enable the directors or the chief executive of the Company to acquire benefits by means of acquisition of shares in, or debt securities (including debentures) of, the Company or any other body corporate and none of the directors, the chief executive, their spouses or children under the age of 18, had any rights to subscribe for securities of the Company, or had exercised any such rights during the period.

With regard to the incremental costs of the conversion of the foam manufacturing enterprises, the following issues were addressed: the higher unitary costs proposed for several equipment items, such as storage tanks, dispenser retrofit, and safety-related equipment, as compared to other similar costs agreed in previously approved projects; the application of similar unitary costs to all enterprises irrespective of the output capacity or the age of the equipment, or the number of equipment items in the baseline; the feasibility of reducing the number of premixing stations and polyol buffer tanks; and the potential for rationalizing costs related to product and process trials, process and safety training, safety audit/certification and external expertise given that among other considerations, several enterprises will be converted to the same technology.

It identified a number of broad policy directions that must be promoted, as follows: (a) Governments should increasingly take on a more central development role in cities; (b) reformed urban planning systems must fully and unequivocally address the current and emerging urban challenges, including climate change, rapid urbanization and poverty, shrinking cities, ageing, multicultural composition of cities, informality and safety; (c) countries should formulate national urban policies in order to address urban challenges and prospects more systematically; and (d) capacity to enforce urban planning regulations, which is seriously lacking in many developing countries, should be given very high priority and should be developed on the basis of realistic standards.

The strategic direction of the subprogramme derives mainly from the commitments agreed upon at relevant United Nations intergovernmental processes, including the Programme of Action of the World Summit for Social Development, the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families, the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, the World Programme of Action on Youth, and the United Nations Millennium Declaration as well as the commitments adopted at the High-level Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly in 2010 and the Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS: Intensifying our Efforts to Eliminate HIV and AIDS.

In accordance with the Law on the republican fund and local funds of social support of population No. 827-XIV from 18 February 2000 and the Regulations adopted by Government Decision No. 1083 from 26 October 2000 on implementation of the Law on the republican fund and the local funds of social support of population, aid is offered annually to families with children, to families with children with disabilities of an age of up to 16 years, single parent families, families with tutorship on non-institutionalised orphan children, persons not involved in employment due to the need to take care of children until the age of 3 years and other families with low incomes, as well as to orphan children and left without parental care and who are under care of the social assistance and family protection Sections/Directorates.

The new Constitution (ratified on 7 August 2008) guarantees civil and political rights and fundamental freedoms including, inter alia: the right to life; right to nondiscrimination; right to fair and public trials; protection from arbitrary detention; right to bail; freedom from forced confession; right to legal aid; prohibition of torture or degrading treatment; right to appeal; access to compensation for unlawful arrest or detention; right to vote (voting age reduced to 18) and to hold public office; freedom of opinion and expression; right to privacy; right to information; freedom of association; freedom of assembly; freedom of movement; and provision of special protection to vulnerable groups, including children, adolescents, elders, and people with special needs.

There are certain professions, specialties or occupations where vocational secondary education can only be acquired on the basis of general secondary education, as entrants to the course are presumed to have reached certain age maturity.

For example, no information has been communicated on the inventory of all the currently existing staff competencies in the Secretariat or on the practical steps taken to tackle the problem of ageing.

In addition, please provide information on the number of children detained in police custody or other facility, and their ages, as well as the measures taken to guarantee that children deprived of their liberty are kept separate from adults and further, that children are held in separate facilities by agegroup.

(B) No Director shall be required to vacate office or be ineligible for re-election or re-appointment as a Director, and no person shall be ineligible for appointment as a Director, by reason only of his having attained any particular age.

These surveys cover a large part of needs for information on the phenomena of disability, dependency, population aging and the state of health of the population living in Spain.

In summary, his requests to the Fifth Committee were to approve a waiver of the ceiling on the earnings of language retirees hired by the Department until the end of 2009, to consider a permanent increase in the ceiling for the years to come, up to 185 work days, and/or to examine the possibility of waiving the current retirement age for all language staff until the wave of retirements was over and suitable replacements had been recruited.

In line with the mainstreaming of age, gender and diversity perspectives into operations management, the outcomes of structured dialogue with different groups and individuals of concern have been integrated into the programming effort, ensuring that requirements are targeted as much as possible to the needs of the most vulnerable.

The Committee recommends that the State party adopt evaluation measures to assess the impact of its poverty and social reduction strategies and identify its weaknesses, and requests that the State party include, in its next report, comparative data disaggregated by gender, age, rural and urban populations, as well as indicators on the number of persons living in extreme poverty, and on the progress made in its efforts to combat poverty.

Efforts to measure the net enrolment rate have been impeded by lack of data, which is attributable to the fact that some children have no birth certificates and children of varying ages gain admission.

Other noteworthy initiatives include the Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Action Plan, which provided increased numbers of mammograms, breast biopsies and Pap smears and reduced the number of radical, mutilating surgeries; field-level obstetrical care, such as training in emergency care for doctors and nurses and normal childbirth campaigns; the National Sickle-Cell Anaemia Carrier Treatment Programme, which focuses on women of reproductive age; and the Mobile Emergency Care Service.

Save as disclosed above, at no time during the year was the Company or any of its subsidiaries, its holding company, or any of its fellow subsidiaries a party to any arrangement to enable the Company’s Directors (including their spouses or children under 18 years of age) or chief executive of the Company to acquire benefits by means of the acquisition of shares in or debentures of, the Company or any other body corporate.

The Chief of the Development and Economic and Social Issues Branch, OHCHR, in reference to the findings in the report of the Secretary-General pursuant to General Assembly resolution 65/182 (A/66/173), underscored that age-related discrimination was one of the most frequent challenges faced by older persons around the world.
