(A) Any two or more certificates representing shares of any one class held by any member may at his request be cancelled and a single new certificate for such shares issued in lieu upon payment of such fee (not exceeding, in the case of any share capital listed on a stock exchange in Hong Kong, the maximum amount prescribed or permitted from time to time by such stock exchange, and, in the case of any other share capital, such sum in such currency as the Board may from time to time determine to be reasonable in the territory in which the relevant register is situate, or otherwise in each case such other sum as the Board may from time to time determine) as the Board shall from time to time determine.

The overall aim of the Integrated Strategic Framework for the Democratic Republic of the Congo is: (a) to forge a shared vision of how the United Nations can assist the Government and the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to end the long-lasting conflicts in the eastern part of the country, to consolidate peace in other areas, and to accelerate nationally the process of recovery and development; (b) to translate this vision into a single, coherent strategic framework that has clear objectives and priorities, taking full account of the Government’s own goals as reflected in the poverty reduction strategy and its priority action plan, and the Stabilization and Reconstruction Plan for eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo; and (c) to strengthen United Nations coordination and management mechanisms to ensure the cohesive implementation of priorities in keeping with the principle of “delivering as one”.

This Agreement represents the understanding of the Governments of the Cook Islands, Kiribati, Marshall Islands (the), the Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu (each of them will be referred as “the Country”) and the Executive Committee with respect to the reduction of controlled use of the ozone-depleting substances (ODS) set out in Appendix 1-A (“The Substances”) to a sustained aggregate level of 2.11 ODP tonnes prior to 1 January 2020 in compliance with Montreal Protocol schedules, with the understanding that this figure is to be revised one single time in 2011, when the baseline consumption for compliance would be established based on Article 7 data, with the funding to be adjusted accordingly, as per decision 60/44.

The delegation of Nepal requested that the secretariat help least developed and landlocked countries to conduct analyses on key export and import products; introduce single windows and paperless trade and the promotion of public-private sector dialogue on the implementation of trade and transit facilitation measures; provide a platform to discuss issues of common concern, paying particular attention to least developed and landlocked countries; promote value chains for agricultural and forestry products, including under initiatives such as “one village one product” programmes; and disseminate information and provide capacity-building assistance on the certification of organic foods and sanitary and phytosanitary standards, accession to APTA and overall assistance in the formulation of appropriate trade and investment policies.

For a number of reasons, it is not always possible to draft specific provisions in a suitable or discrete form, such as a convention or a model law, for incorporation into national legal systems: national legal systems often use widely disparate legislative techniques and approaches for solving a given issue, States may not yet be ready to agree on a single approach or common rule, there may not be consensus on the need to find a uniform solution to a particular issue, or there may be different levels of consensus on the key issues of a particular subject and how they should be addressed.

A member opined that every single step counts in achieving the goal of clean air and blue sky and supported the ban in principle.

The two documents were presented by the representative of ADG/BSP, who pointed out that the complex nature of contemporary challenges requires inputs from several disciplines, which is why UNESCO’s Draft Medium-Term Strategy (34 C/4) offers a holistic, interdisciplinary approach under a single Mission Statement, of which Culture is one of the main pillars.

With a view to promoting socio-economic rights of women in an era of globalization, the Sector developed a single major research project on “gender and the crisis” involving all field offices in order to have a greater impact by pooling funds and joining efforts.

Until now, many single parents simply accepted the fact that maintenance was not paid and did not even try to protect the rights of their child in court.

To this end, the report reviews the performance of the internal and external audit activity, the oversight/audit committees, and the implementation of the single audit principle; it assesses the interrelationship between the various audit entities and their relationship with the management and legislative/governing bodies; it identifies trends, gaps and duplications and it highlights lessons learned and best practices to be replicated in order to enhance the coherence, credibility, efficiency and effectiveness of the audit function system-wide.

There was broad support for basic education for all, in both its formal and non-formal settings, which was singled out for document 33 C/5 as the highest priority cutting across all programmes.

The Commission noted with appreciation the announcement by the Russian Federation to provide the secretariat with financial support for technical assistance activities in Central Asia related to increasing ICT connectivity and creating a single regional information space.

In addition, the delegation of Mongolia expressed appreciation to the secretariat for the technical assistance Mongolia had received in the area of promoting trade corridors, accession to APTA, development of a single window master plan, negotiation of free trade agreements and designing an investment promotion strategy, and looked forward to continued support from the secretariat in those areas.

Those issues included: enabling legislation; information sharing, data protection and confidentiality; organizational issues; liability of single window facility operators; competition law; use of electronic documents; intellectual property rights; data retention and limits on re-use of data, including for evidentiary purposes; mutual recognition of electronic and digital signatures (including through identity management systems); and electronic transfer of rights in goods.

In accordance with the Law on the republican fund and local funds of social support of population No. 827-XIV from 18 February 2000 and the Regulations adopted by Government Decision No. 1083 from 26 October 2000 on implementation of the Law on the republican fund and the local funds of social support of population, aid is offered annually to families with children, to families with children with disabilities of an age of up to 16 years, single parent families, families with tutorship on non-institutionalised orphan children, persons not involved in employment due to the need to take care of children until the age of 3 years and other families with low incomes, as well as to orphan children and left without parental care and who are under care of the social assistance and family protection Sections/Directorates.

Other achievements under the Convention have included the adoption of Act No. 29478, which deals with the provision of facilities to enable persons with disabilities to vote; Act No. 29524 on Deafblind Persons, which recognizes deafblindness as a single disability; Administrative Decision No. 0269-2009 of the National Identity and Civil Status Registry (RENIEC), which establishes that national identity documents are to be issued free of charge to persons with disabilities and provides for expedited procedures for persons, especially children, who do not have a birth certificate; and legislation on health-care provisions for members of the armed forces and police.

For example, Brazil has become a growing destination for Norwegian cod, helping to ease somewhat the concerns of Norwegian exporters that their sales in southern Europe were being affected by the economic crisis, particularly in Portugal, which is the largest single importer of Norwegian cod.

(b) Ensure that PMSCs and their personnel, holding valid licences and authorizations, issued by the competent bodies of the State party to export military and/or security services to carry out single acts or, alternatively, regular activity in the territory of any State not party to the Convention, provide comprehensive information to the competent bodies of all concerned States about the nature and extent of such acts and activities.

It also welcomed the steps taken to consolidate various family laws into a single one, urging that this review take place through adequate public consultation, and that the necessary assistance be provided by the international community.

Because changes in subjective input assumptions can materially affect the fair value estimate, in the directors’ opinion, the existing model does not necessarily provide a reliable single measure of the fair value of incentive shares.

In particular, UN/CEFACT Recommendation 35, in its Annex II, featured “Checklist Guidelines” listing and discussing the following legal elements: legal basis for implementing a Single Window facility; single window facility structure and organization; data protection; authority to access and share data between government agencies; identification, authentication, and authorization; data quality; liability issues; arbitration and dispute resolution; electronic documents; electronic archiving; intellectual property rights and database ownership; and competition.

Although a single promotion activity may sometimes be sufficient to attain a set objective, a combination of activities often make bigger impact on the promotion target group and contribute to better attainment of the set objective.

This issue is raised by both the increase in the number of patent applications which is imposing heavy demands on the resources of many patent offices, and the recognition that there is considerable duplication of effort in the system, particularly with regard to the need to submit multiple applications for a single invention in different jurisdictions.
