The international conventions referred to above include the four Geneva Conventions of the 12 August 1949 and their Additional Protocols of 8 June 1977 and the UNESCO Convention of 14 May 1954 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the event of armed conflict [Emphasis added – UNESCO Secretariat].
