Former U.S. Ambassadors Thomas Pickering and William Luers, along with international security expert Jim Walsh, argue that the Iranian nuclear case presents a particularly tough challenge for sanctions for several reasons: Iran is a regional power and an oil supplier likely to continue to sell to various countries given declining global supply; its government has made a very public commitment to the nuclear program, and experience has shown it can build centrifuges faster than others can impose sanctions; it is a proud country with a cultivated abhorrence of outside interference; sanctions can impose costs, but their loud and accusatory character make them as likely to induce resistance as compliance.

Let me here refer to President Tadić’s efforts and to the Serbia Parliament’s declaration on the Srebrenicagenocide,and to the admission by Croatia of its role in the atrocities of the 1990s.

Allow me to start by thanking Mr. Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou, Ambassador of Benin, for his efforts in facilitating the draft resolution entitled “Organization of the High-level Meeting on Youth” (A/65/L.63).

The Prosecutor has expressed concern about the comments made by the new President of Serbia, shortly after his election, denying that genocide occurred in Srebrenica in July 1995.

At the closing ceremony statements were made by the President of the Conference, Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkey; Cheick Sidi Diarra, Secretary-General of the Conference; Upendra Yadav, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal; Argentina (on behalf of the Group of 77 and China); and Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou (Benin), Rapporteur of the Conference.

The Nigerian delegation wishes to express its appreciation to Ambassador Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou of Benin, Chair of the 2010 session of the Disarmament Commission, and to the previous Chairs of the Working Groups for their hard work during the last session.

We would like to also express our appreciation to His Excellency Mr. Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou of Benin, 2010 Chair of the Commission, and the previous Chairs of the Working Groups for their hard work.

I wish to commend its departing Chairman, Ambassador Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou, for his competent stewardship of the work of the Commission last year, as well as to recognize with appreciation the many efforts of the Bureau last year.

Francisde Rovere (d. 1484 as Sixtus IV), who defended in a disputation before Pius II and also in his writings the doctrine that the blood shed by Christ on the Cross was released from the hypostatic union.

On 25 August 2011, Judge Vagn Joensen (Denmark) was elected Vice-President, and on 14 February 2012, in anticipation of the redeployment of President Khalida Rachid Khan (Pakistan) to the Appeals Chamber, Judge Joensen was elected President and Judge Florence Rita Arrey (Cameroon) was elected Vice-President.

Lieutenant-Commander FranciscoPérez ofthe Potosí Naval Base in Nicaragua reported to the Navy of Honduras that the sevenmetre fibreglass craft, with a 40 horsepower outboard engine, “was seized carrying two crew members, Adonis Rivas Rodas, who was detained, and Víctor Muñoz, who jumped overboard during the operation and is missing”.
