The Trial Chambers are currently composed of Judges Dennis Byron (Saint Kitts and Nevis), Khalida Rachid Khan (Pakistan), William H. Sekule (United Republic of Tanzania), Arlette Ramaroson (Madagascar), Joseph Asoka Nihal De Silva (Sri Lanka) and Bakhtiyar Tuzmukhamedov (Russian Federation) as permanent judges and Solomy Balungi Bossa (Uganda), Lee Gacuiga Muthoga (Kenya), Florence Rita Arrey (Cameroon), Emile Francis Short (Ghana), Taghrid Hikmet (Jordan), Seon Ki Park (Republic of Korea), Gberdao Gustave Kam (Burkina Faso), Vagn Joensen (Denmark), Joseph Masanche (United Republic of Tanzania), Mparany Rajohnson (Madagascar) and Aydin Sefa Akay (Turkey) as ad litem judges.

Allow me to start by thanking Mr. Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou, Ambassador of Benin, for his efforts in facilitating the draft resolution entitled “Organization of the High-level Meeting on Youth” (A/65/L.63).

We would like to also express our appreciation to His Excellency Mr. Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou of Benin, 2010 Chair of the Commission, and the previous Chairs of the Working Groups for their hard work.

I wish to commend its departing Chairman, Ambassador Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou, for his competent stewardship of the work of the Commission last year, as well as to recognize with appreciation the many efforts of the Bureau last year.

Francis de Rovere (d. 1484 as Sixtus IV), who defended in a disputation before Pius II and also in his writings the doctrine that the blood shed by Christ on the Cross was released from the hypostatic union.

On 25 August 2011, Judge Vagn Joensen (Denmark) was elected Vice-President, and on 14 February 2012, in anticipation of the redeployment of President Khalida Rachid Khan (Pakistan) to the Appeals Chamber, Judge Joensen was elected President and Judge Florence Rita Arrey (Cameroon) was elected Vice-President.

Lieutenant-Commander Francisco Pérez of the Potosí Naval Base in Nicaragua reported to the Navy of Honduras that the sevenmetre fibreglass craft, with a 40 horsepower outboard engine, “was seized carrying two crew members, Adonis Rivas Rodas, who was detained, and Víctor Muñoz, who jumped overboard during the operation and is missing”.

I should also like to warmly thank the outgoing Chairman, Ambassador Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou of Benin, for his laudable efforts at the previous session to advance the work of the Disarmament Commission.

I should like to express here my sincere thanks to Ambassador Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou of Benin, who so effectively and patiently conducted the discussions and complex negotiations in the informal consultations in order to bring them to a successful conclusion.

At the closing ceremony statements were made by the President of the Conference, Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkey; Cheick Sidi Diarra, Secretary-General of the Conference; Upendra Yadav, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal; Argentina (on behalf of the Group of 77 and China); and Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou (Benin), Rapporteur of the Conference.

The Nigerian delegation wishes to express its appreciation to Ambassador Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou of Benin, Chair of the 2010 session of the Disarmament Commission, and to the previous Chairs of the Working Groups for their hard work during the last session.

Statements were made by the Minister of Youth, Sports and Physical Education of Tunisia, Samir Laabidi, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Benin to the United Nations, JeanFrancis Zinsou, the Under-Secretary-General of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Sha Zukang, the Special Representative to the United Nations and Director of the International Labour Organization Office for the United Nations, Jane Stewart, the Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator of United States Agency for International Development, Michael Yates, the youth representative from Pax Romana, Maya Saoud, and the United Nations Youth Champion, Monique Coleman.

I would also like to thank my co-facilitator and friend, Ambassador Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou of Benin, for his outstanding cooperation throughout the process, and the Secretariat, for its great support.

Also, on behalf the African Group, I want to express appreciation to the Chair of the 2010 session, Mr. JeanFrancis Régis Zinsou of Benin, as well as all previous Chairpersons of the Working Groups, for their remarkable contributions.
