The Advisory Committee notes that the Secretary-General, in paragraphs 4 to 13 of his report (A/65/328/Add.6), provided information on the progress achieved in peacebuilding in Burundi in the period from 2008 to 2010, as a result of the combined efforts by the Government, BINUB, the United Nations country team and the international community in the following areas: the demobilization, disarmament, reintegration and resettlement of combatants; democratic governance and public information policy; human rights and justice; transitional justice; and child protection and the improvement of the status of women.

Major difficulties arose from the lack of updated chain of command, collapse of communication system, lack of updated emergency contact details (staff, HQ and host country), weak IT capability in emergency situations, lack of accessible documentation on electrical and other infrastructure of premises and lack of allocated financial resources.
