The Commission held a dialogue with the panellists, in which the delegations of the following countries participated: China, Indonesia, Ghana, Cameroon, Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand, India, Greece, Denmark, Japan, South Africa, Portugal, Mexico, Qatar, Israel, the Central African Republic, Turkey, Pakistan, Uganda, the Republic of Korea, Burundi, Morocco, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Kenya, Colombia, Cape Verde, Thailand, Botswana, Spain and Jordan.

As the United Nations role in Burundi is to provide support to the government and assist it in the task of peacebuilding and economic recovery, various readjustments at the United Nations system level were made, and the UNESCO Office Bujumbura was actively involved in that process.

At the 6th and 7th meetings of the Special Committee, the representatives of Bolivia (Plurinational State of), Brazil, China, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana (speaking on behalf of UNASUR), Indonesia, Mali, Nicaragua, Paraguay (speaking on behalf of the States members and associated States of MERCOSUR), Peru, the Russian Federation, Sierra Leone, the Syrian Arab Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of) also made statements on the question of the Falkland Islands (Malvinas) (see A/AC.109/2011/SR.6 and 7).

In addition, there are now 18 States Parties have designated a focal entity to strengthen victim assistance-related activities: Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burundi, Cambodia, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, El Salvador, Guinea-Bissau, Iraq, Jordan, Peru, Senegal, Sudan, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Uganda.

The three missions in West Africa, UNOCI, UNMIL and the United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Support Office in Sierra Leone (UNIPSIL) as well as the United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA), continue to work together and cooperate in a number of areas, including: joint border patrols with UNMIL to prevent cross-border movement of irregular armed groups and weapons; organizing joint training programmes between UNOCI and UNMIL, which are also attended by other missions; maintaining a terrestrial microwave connectivity with UNMIL in addition to establishing leased line connectivity to three major cities in Côte d’Ivoire to enhance service quality and speed and achieve savings from unused satellite bandwidth; and the sharing of air assets among the missions.

As at 1 March 2010, 46 members of the Authority were in arrears for a period of two years or more: Belarus, Belize, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Comoros, Cook Islands, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Honduras, Iraq, Lesotho, Madagascar, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Micronesia (Federated States of), Pakistan, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Republic of Moldova, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Sudan, Togo, Tonga, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The following least developed countries were represented during the course of the Trade Fair: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burundi, Cambodia, Gambia, Guinea, Haiti, Kiribati, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Myanmar, Nepal, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Vanuatu and Zambia.

The Committee was informed that between its forty-eighth and forty-ninth sessions, the Secretary-General had received the consolidated second, third and fourth periodic report of Angola, the second periodic reports of Burundi and Grenada, the third periodic report of Tunisia, the consolidated third and fourth periodic reports of Belgium, Spain and Sudan and the fourth periodic reports of Denmark and Nicaragua.

In response to some of the violations that occurred in the most recent period, the Security Council took concrete steps relating to the protection of civilians, the first one being the adoption of resolution 1973 (2011), which authorized all necessary measures to protect civilians in Libya, and the second being the adoption of resolution 1975 (2011), which imposed sanctions on former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo and his circle and authorized the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire to prevent the use of heavy weapons against the civilian population.

During the same period, the Government has been working on the implementation of reintegration programmes, principally through the support project for the socio-economic reintegration of those affected by the conflict in the provinces of Cibitoke, Bubanza and Bujumbura Rural (P3P), the support project for the repatriation and reintegration of disaster victims (UNHCR and PARESI), the programme of voluntary return, resettlement and reintegration for displaced persons living in camps to their native hillsides and more generally through the integrated programme of support for the socio-economic reintegration of those affected by the conflict (UNDAF+) — a joint programme of the Government and the United Nations, launched in March 2010 and operating in the provinces most affected by the crisis (Cibitoke, Bubanza, Bujumbura Rural, Bururi, Makamba, Rutana, Ruyigi and Kirundo).

Certain statements in this press release including, but not limited to, the features and benefits of Leadis' LDS6010, LDS6040, LDS6018 and LDS6048 capacitive touch controller ICs, the anticipated market adoption of these products, as well as the benefits of the license to Immersion's haptics technology, are forward-looking statements that are subject to risks and uncertainties that could cause results to be materially different than expectations.

The Security Council also endorsed the following benchmarks introduced as preconditions for further drawdown of the UNOCI force: completion of credible disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of former combatants and dismantling of militias; successful completion of the elections; commencement of security sector reform, in particular confidence-building measures within a broader framework for democratic governance and oversight of the security sector, reunification of the army and establishment of functional and republican Ivorian armed forces and security services; and restoration of State authority throughout the country.

From the Group’s perspective, Transit Interarmées played a negative role in the enforcement of the embargo because Ivorian customs had no control over its import of equipment for the Ministry of Defence, and the Group was already aware that, at a minimum, vehicles (see annex VIII of S/2011/272), telecommunication and military material were being imported through Transit Interarmées for military use, thus representing a clear breach of the sanctions regime.

At its eighth meeting, the Commission examined items 5.10 “Establishment of an international centre for water hazard and risk management (ICHARM) in Tsukuba, Japan, under the auspices of UNESCO”, 5.16 “Proposal for the establishment of an IHP-HELP centre for water law, policy and science at the University of Dundee, United Kingdom” and 5.32 “Proposed establishment of the Regional Water Centre for Arid and Semi-Arid Zones of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAZALAC) under the auspices of UNESCO, in La Serena (Chile)”.

Such risks and uncertainties include, but are not limited to, lack of market adoption for Leadis' capacitive touch controller ICs or the haptics technology, delays in ramping these new products into production, delays in the integration of our products into consumer electronic devices, our reliance on third-party manufacturers, general portable electronics and semiconductor industry trends, and other risks detailed from time to time in Leadis' reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission including its Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2007 and Form 10-Q for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.

The Migration Court further noted that the event which the complainant claimed was the direct cause for her to flee Burundi occurred nearly three years ago, a period that was considered to be relatively long.

The aims of the project “Through connected services to the labour market”, carried out under the leadership of the Viljandi County Authority, included improving access to labour market for young mothers, creating new methods for raising employment among women, finding jobs for the target group and informing them about the opportunities for accessing the labour market.
