I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the hard work and dedicated efforts of the outgoing President, Ambassador Christian Strohal of Austria, and his colleagues.

The UNESCO Offices in Cambodia, Congo, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea and Zimbabwe have been involved in the implementation of the project’s first objective – Basic skills, training of marginalized youth in craft workshops and non-formal education courses with the skills training of some 175 young girls and boys, sales exhibitions of new products and the development of local marketing channels.

I would like to convey the appreciation of the EU and its member States to the Secretary-General, the President of the General Assembly, the World Health Organization (WHO) secretariat and the co-facilitators from Luxembourg and Jamaica for all their hard work in preparing this High-level Meeting on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

I have seen the good that the United Nations has accomplished all over the world, and I have been privileged to meet many of the dedicated men and women who work under the blue flag in troubled lands very far from their homes: places like Liberia, where United Nations forces have provided the space and security that that war-torn country needed to begin putting itself back together; Pakistan, where United Nations aid workers are assisting people whose homes and livelihoods have been washed away by the floods; and, of course, Haiti, where United Nations peacekeepers, led by Brazil, were immediately back on the streets after the earthquake, despite having suffered grievous losses themselves.

Finally, I would like to join previous speakers in thanking all countries that have contributed troops to MINUSTAH and would like extend sincere thanks to the personnel of the Mission in Haiti for their dedicated work.

Hard work and always aiming for high quality outputs will allow you to succeed and indeed thrive in the research environment.

Day by day, we work on improving what already exists and developing innovations with the aim of a constant increase in efficiency and safety in implantological therapy.

This great success is attributable to the enormous diligence and hard work as well as the professional skills of Voith.

Discussing those two mutually interrelated items together is essential to strengthening the much desired cooperation between the General Assembly and the Security Council, as it provides the general membership with a unique, once-a-year opportunity to review the hard work of the Council over the past 12 months, appreciate its accomplishments and assess areas where changes would contribute to greater efficiency and relevance.

It is thanks to them, and to other supporting countries and the European Commission, which contributed a generous grant, as well as to the hard work of each and every person here at the Tribunal, that we have been able to make substantial progress in our work.

We appreciate that DCO staff devote considerable effort to finalizing the accounts and that the implementation of the new Finance and Budget System (FABS) imposed additional requirements and pressures on UNESCO personnel.

While his delegation commended the Advisory Committee on its professionalism and hard work, it was disappointed that its report on the backstopping of special political missions had not been ready in time for the current meeting, given that the SecretaryGeneral’s report on the item (A/66/340) contained important options to be considered by the Fifth Committee.

The consistently high level of support and professional environment, diligence in anticipating and meeting customer needs, and the bright and cheery attitude of the entire Servcorp staff, serves not only to set a high benchmark for other members of the Hong Kong professional services community to achieve, but also reflects exceptional credit on Servcorp, its management and staff, and on the Hong Kong SAR.

The consistently high level of support and professional environment, diligence in anticipating and meeting customer needs, and the bright and cheery attitude of the entire Servcorp staff, serves not only to set a high benchmark for other members of the Hong Kong professional services community to achieve, but also reflects exceptional credit on Servcorp, its management and staff, and on the Hong Kong SAR.

Our company's technology leadership would not exist without the day-to-day contributions of Emerson engineers around the world.

We would like to also express our appreciation to His Excellency Mr. Jean-Francis Régis Zinsou of Benin, 2010 Chair of the Commission, and the previous Chairs of the Working Groups for their hard work.

We would like to thank the Silco team for all their hard work and dedication.

He also thanked the observers for their interest and strong support, as well as the secretariat and the interpreters for their continuous hard work.

I wish to thank all those who worked so hard to prepare for this important meeting.

What’s more, WACKER creates and safeguards other jobs in the region: approximately 1,500 construction engineers and fitters from companies based in Saxony and Bavaria are working on the site of the new polysilicon facility.

At the same time, the safety and health of our workforce in all their efforts for us is another high priority in our company policy, as is environmental awareness in all our plans and actions.

In addition, “Mentes Brillantes” (brilliant minds) project competitions have been held as joint public/private initiatives with support from the Special Commission on Disability, and the Mephibosheth Resource Centre was established to facilitate access to information technologies for persons with disabilities.

Receiving recognition for your work is always gratifying, yet we look at it as a challenge – a challenge to continually innovate and create designs that meet the needs of our customers in unexpected and liberating ways.
