Due to domestic pressures, donor countries’ budgets are stretched, and changes in food aid funding mechanisms pose a significant challenge to UNRWA to meet food requirements for the poor.

If the Government put forth the same reason alleging that the Democratic Party had not provided Members with a report which was unfavourable to the CPF, let us guess what would be our frame of mind here today?

Trade representatives suggested that, apart from apron, menu stand and toothpick, badge printed with the Chinese rendition of “Food Safety Charter” for staff of signatories to wear, tools such as food thermometer and timer for use in kitchen, tissue pack for distribution to customers, etc. might also be considered for the purpose of the publicity on the Charter.

At the same time, the internationally renowned actress and long-time UNICEF advocate said she’d been deeply touched by the way ordinary Lebanese families – themselves very poor – had opened up their homes and hearts to the incoming refugees.

With already stretched capacity and resources, Pacific island countries face a significant challenge in managing this global common in a sustainable manner and equitably benefiting from its sustainable development.
