General Conference: The total additional requirements amount to $156,500 to cover for printing and dispatch of documents, external printing/binding services, equipment maintenance services and temporary assistance.

In order to minimize these increases and on the basis of a careful assessment of possible ways to optimize efficiency, decreases are proposed in certain budget lines, such as temporary assistance for meetings, general temporary assistance and overtime under Part A, “Recurrent expenditure”, miscellaneous services and charges (including bank charges), special services (external audit) and external printing and binding (see paras. 26, 60, 75, 77, 78, 90, 92 and 96).

(a) Establishing a compulsory system for registering persons held in detention, in the form of a bound and paginated register, separate from the duty register, which should include the reasons for the deprivation of liberty, the exact time when the detention began, how long it lasted, who was responsible for its authorization and the identity of the law enforcement officials concerned, together with precise information on the place of detention and the hour at which the detainee first appeared before a judicial or other authority

Publishing: outside printing and binding; reviews; paper and printing; other printing: reprints of articles published in reviews; brochures; treaties; collections of texts; manuals; working forms and other miscellaneous printed material; production of CD-ROMs, videos, magnetic tapes and other forms of electronic publishing.

Children find other art and craft activities such as basketry, block printing, bookbinding, carving, leather working, braiding, weaving, photography, and flower pressing very enjoyable.

Based on volume and planning best estimates, additional costs are foreseen for a total $224,400, mainly to cover for external translation contracts, printing/binding/dispatch services, equipment maintenance services and temporary assistance.

Multifeeds can happen due to stapled documents, adhesives on documents, or electrostatically charged documents.

Improve adhesives used in sealing cases and cartons and in bookbinding with resins that are compatible with hydrocarbon and natural tackifiers and most waxes.

Germany further indicated that a strategic action concept was developed in order to create the necessary infrastructure for further targeted survey.

As regards activities under the “ethics of science and technology, in particular bioethics”, the suggestion was made to place more emphasis on information and sensitization of the public-at-large and decision-makers, on the development of further normative instruments, on the promotion of ethics education, on the ethics of the use of science and technology, capacity-building and on multidisciplinary action.

At its sixty-second session, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to update the compilation of decisions of international courts, tribunals and other bodies referring to the articles, and to invite Governments to submit information on their practice in that regard; also requested the Secretary-General to submit that material well in advance of its sixty-fifth session; and decided to further examine, within the framework of a working group of the Sixth Committee, the question of a convention on responsibility of States for internationally wrongful acts or other appropriate action on the basis of the articles (resolution 62/61).
