During the reporting period, the Trial Chambers were composed of Judges Flügge (presiding), Orie (presiding), Kwon (presiding), Antonetti (presiding), Moloto (presiding), Hall (presiding), Morrison, Delvoie, Prandler, Trechsel, Mindua, Harhoff, Lattanzi, David, Picard, Gwaunza, Baird and Nyambe.

Of course, we have a positive view of the appointment of Ambassador Moschopoulos of Greece as European Union facilitator on these issues.

A positive development that took place during the reporting period was the status-neutral appointment by the European Union of the head of Greece’s liaison office in Pristina, Ambassador Dimitris Moschopoulos, to the position of facilitator for the protection of Serbian heritage in the province.

I have listened attentively to the statements made by Under-Secretary-General Valerie Amos, Assistant Secretary-General Ivan Šimonović and Mr. Philip Spoerri on behalf of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Following extensive engagement with all sides during previous months, the European Union announced on 16 February that the head of Greece’s liaison office in Pristina, Dimitris Moschopoulos, would serve as facilitator in the protection of the religious and cultural heritage of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo.

At the same meeting, the panellists Juan Somavía, Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, Martin Khor and Irene Khan answered questions and made their concluding remarks.

To this end, we support the EU’s newly appointed facilitator, Ambassador Moschopoulos.
