At its sixty-fifth session, the General Assembly welcomed the commitment by Pacific Islands Forum leaders and the Secretary-General to enhanced high-level dialogue between the members of the Pacific Islands Forum and the United Nations; invited the Secretary-General to consider ways to promote and expand cooperation and coordination with Pacific Islands Forum members and the Forum secretariat; and requested the Secretary-General to submit a report on the implementation of the resolution to the Assembly at its sixty-seventh session (resolution 65/316).

Ciputra World Surabaya, Tunjungan Plaza, Grand City, Galaxy Mall, Supermal Pakuwon Indah, Surabaya Town Square, Lenmarc, Royal Plaza Surabaya, East Coast and Surabaya Plaza are just some of the famous shopping centres available, while Hi-Tech Mall, WTC and Plasa Marina are the computer and mobile phone shopping centres in Surabaya.

UNESCO also needs to intensify its response to other priorities: capacity-building in science and technology, the promotion and management of renewable sources of energy, the elaboration of sustainable development strategies for the small island states (of particular importance for the Caribbean) and the popularization of science.

That, as cardiovascular disease is the second leading cause of deaths in Hong Kong, and medical research also reveals that consumption of food containing trans fats will increase the risk of contracting coronary heart disease, and given that some countries such as Denmark have legislated as early as 2003 to prescribe the permissible maximum level of trans fats in food, the use of artificial trans fats in food production in restaurants will also be gradually banned in places such as New York, Chicago and Massachusetts to safeguard public health, this Council urges the Government to follow the practice of these places to expeditiously legislate against the use of artificial trans fats in food production in local restaurants, to prescribe the permissible maximum level of trans fats for all imported and locally produced food, and to require the trans fats contents in food to be listed on the package labels for identification by consumers.

They cover controls of hand held percussion breakers; increases in penalties and improvements in the procedure for abatement notices to air pollution offences; controls on the use of asbestos; controls on the use and maintenance of waste treatment plants, provision to direct property owners to discharge wastes into public sewers; for a system of charging for treating of industrial effluent to specified quality and regulations to control the disposal of chemical waste and charge for it.

The Commission was informed of initiatives that were being undertaken by Pacific island developing countries to protect biodiversity and the maintenance of ecosystem services, such as the Phoenix Islands Protected Area in Kiribati, the largest marine protected area in the Pacific Ocean, and the Coral Triangle Initiative, which covered a number of countries in the Asia-Pacific region, included the greatest extent of mangrove forests in the world and provided a critical spawning and juvenile growth area for tuna and other globally significant fish species.

At its sixty-sixth session, the General Assembly stressed the importance of the continued substantive consideration of the follow-up to and implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States and decided to consider at its sixty-seventh session the reports of the Secretary-General on concrete recommendations to enhance the implementation of the Barbados Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (A/66/278) and on the review of United Nations system support to small island developing States (A/66/218), issued for the sixty-sixth session (resolution 66/198).
