A research network bringing together existing research institutions across the different subregions of Africa and different continents, in view of creating a migration observatory network in order to better inform policy on migration and development should be envisaged.

In order to try to move as close as possible to achieving this ideal however, IOS, together with BSP, did two things.

As PBDEs tended to accumulate in fat, the public should consume low fat food, discard fat from meat and meat product, reduce the use of food made from animal fat and adopt low fat cooking methods.

The challenge of a 10-year framework of programmes is to ensure a quick transition to sustainable consumption and production patterns to remain within the carrying capacities of ecosystems while ensuring upward convergence in standards of living within and between countries.
