In these areas too, Africa’s commitments have yielded fruit, and many countries are now enjoying political stability.

It is a source of income for those who depend on its generous waters.

On the other hand, it is necessary for the community to care for and respect this team of kindergarten teachers who are hard working and dedicated to their work by giving them reasonable emoluments to safeguard their livelihood.

Therefore, I appeal to the Chief Executive to include in the already announced membership of the Task Force more relevant persons in future-oriented industries, especially experts who are well-versed in the new economy and new technological development, and elites and foreign experts with a good understanding of the operation of SMEs in order to elicit their opinions and assist SMEs which have all along been working hard quietly, and to seek new impetus for economic development in Hong Kong.

Save as disclosed above, as at the Latest Practical Date, the Directors are not aware of any other person who had an interest or short position in the Shares or underlying Shares of the Company which would fall to be disclosed to the Company under the provisions of Divisions 2 and 3 of Part XV of the SFO, or who was, directly or indirectly, interested in 10% or more of the nominal value of any class of share capital, or options in respect of such capital, carrying rights to vote in all circumstances at general meetings of any other member of the Group.

Even though governments still have a preference for local satellite operators, we believe that they will recognise the benefits of an open market and hence will eventually allow foreign operators to enter these markets without restrictions.

Specific areas of research and dissemination of findings related to crime prevention include: planning for a national programme of technical assistance; the most effective use of closed-circuit television; evaluations of court diversion programmes; the prevention of cybercrime and identity crime; the risks of crime displacement and criminogenic effects of crime prevention initiatives; the prevention of financial crime; fraud and money-laundering; the prevention of terrorist activities and the financing of terrorism; law enforcement responses to drugs; the reduction of alcohol-related violence; intimate partner violence and homicide; human trafficking; and conferences on serious and organized crime and on bushfire arson prevention.

Scholars and experts from all over the world, with frontline public opinion researchers, will gather to discuss the relations between public opinion research and democratic development, the significance of opinion polling, the responsibility of journalists, the trimming of freedom to publish opinion polls around the world, and so on.

(B) If any member shall surrender for cancellation a share certificate representing shares held by him and request the Company to issue in lieu two or more share certificates representing such shares in such proportions as he may specify, the Board may, if it thinks fit, comply with such request subject to the payment of such sum (not exceeding, in the case of any share capital listed on a stock exchange in Hong Kong, the maximum amount prescribed or permitted from time to time by such stock exchange, and, in the case of any other share capital, such sum in such currency as the Board may from time to time determine to be reasonable in the territory in which the relevant register is situate, or otherwise in each case such other sum as the Board may from time to time determine) for every certificate after the first, as the Board shall from time to time determine.

Ordinary resolutions will also be proposed at the Annual General Meeting in respect of the granting of the Issue Mandate to the Directors, in the terms set out in the notice of the Annual General Meeting, to allot, issue and deal with Shares not exceeding 20% of the aggregate nominal amount of the share capital of the Company in issue as at the date of passing the relevant resolution, and adding to the Issue Mandate so granted to the Directors any Shares representing the aggregate nominal amount of the Shares repurchased by the Company after the granting of the Repurchase Mandate, at any time during the period ended on the earliest of (a) the conclusion of the next annual general meeting of the Company; (b) the expiration of the period within which the next annual general meeting of the Company is required by the Articles or any applicable laws to be held; and (c) the date upon which such authority is revoked or varied by an ordinary resolution at a general meeting of Shareholders.
