The Office for Internal Oversight Services endorsed the observation on disparate information technology systems made in paragraph 20 of the comprehensive report (A/64/284, para. 20), but the Procurement Division had not accepted its recommendation that information and communication needs should be formalized in a strategic plan aligned with the operational procurement strategy and that an information and communications technology (ICT) committee composed of representatives of functional users and ICT staff should be established.

There is a widespread perception of a “non-transparent culture” in the selection process of these appointments, which needs to be addressed.

The NZHRC also publishes a biennial Census of Women in Leadership, undertakes an annual survey on public perceptions of discrimination, and publishes an annual report on the compliance of Crown entities with the “Good Employer” and “Equal Employment Opportunities” provisions of the State Sector Act.
