Participants expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the people and Government of the Republic of Korea for the warm hospitality and excellent arrangements in hosting the Conference.

In conclusion, through Ambassador Tanin, I wish to thank the Afghan Government for its hospitality and all of the facilities they put at the disposal of the Security Council’s visit.

Before setting out the region’s conclusions on the consultation and the questionnaire, the National Commissions that participated in the 14th Conference of National Commissions of Latin America and the Caribbean and in the Director-General’s consultation of the National Commissions for UNESCO of Latin America and the Caribbean on the Preparation of the Draft Programme and Budget for 2010–2011 (35 C/5), thanked the Government of Panama and, in particular, the Ministry of Education for their warm welcome and for the generosity and hospitality that they showed the attending delegations.

At its 39th plenary meeting, on 28 July 2009, the Economic and Social Council considered the recommendation of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific to accept the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Korea to host the sixty-sixth session of the Commission, expressed its gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Korea for its generous offer, and approved the holding of the sixty-sixth session of the Commission in Incheon, Republic of Korea, in 2010.

Thank the Government and the people of Uganda for the warm hospitality in hosting the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State.

Allow me to begin by expressing on behalf of the Organization, its personnel and all of you, our profound gratitude to the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr Lee Myung-bak, to his Government and to the Korean people for their hospitality and their warm welcome.

I’d like to thank the government and people of China for their gracious hospitality, which I’ve greatly enjoyed since my first visit almost exactly 30 years ago.

The Conference paid tribute to His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, the Government and the people of Qatar for their support, their generosity and their commitment to finding a durable solution to the Darfur conflict.

He would like to thank the Government for its hospitality and cooperation during the missions and also in discharging his mandate.

In September 2002, UNESCO organized the third Round Table of Ministers of Culture on Intangible Cultural Heritage – a Mirror of Diversity in Istanbul, at the generous invitation of the Turkish authorities.

Gratitude was expressed during the Congress and the nineteenth session of the Commission to the people and Government of Brazil for their warm and generous hospitality and for the excellent organization of the Congress.

Participants from Member States thanked the respective Governments of Rwanda and the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as UNDP, UNFPA and other United Nations country team members and the Resident Coordinators for their hospitality and access to information.

Finally, let me express here my thanks through the Minister for Foreign Affairs to President Koroma and his Government, members of the political parties and civil society in Sierra Leone for their cooperation and hospitality.
