Agricultural production is intensified through the distribution of quality plants and the creation of 2,500 hectares of oil palm plantations, 4,400 hectares of new plantations of plantain and 4,000 hectares of new fields to produce 10,000 tons of plantains and 16 000 tons of corn.

The certificates are then sold on the Green Palm web-based trading platform, where manufacturers or retailers buy certificates and thus support sustainable palm oil production.

The mutual dependency between the palm oil mill and the participating smallholders constitutes the basis of this intervention, providing a secure market for producers and guaranteeing a supply of raw material for primary processing to the palm oil mill.

Deforestation emissions should be reduced by key corporations and their supply chains committing to avoid the purchase of products that cause deforestation, such as soy or cattle from deforested lands in the Brazilian Amazon, palm oil from deforested agricultural land in Indonesia or illegal wood and wood products throughout the world.

Thrips palmi is almost entirely yellow in coloration (Figures 1–3), and its identification is hampered by both its small size (1.0–1.3 mm) and its great similarity to certain other yellow or predominantly yellow species of Thrips.
