The Government has actually conducted a survey in this respect and found that only very few local domestic helpers are willing to live with their employers.

In addition, States should establish blacklists prohibiting households, in which one member has been found to have abused or exploited a live-in domestic worker, from employing other workers.

Around 20 children come to the drop-in centre each day, and some stay overnight.

A live-in worker who is dismissed can find herself from one moment to the next in the street with no income, legal residence status, family support network, return air ticket or right to seek another job.

As the CSAs concerned seek to remove the exclusion of live-in domestic workers so that the Bill, which is applicable to most employees, is also made applicable to them, I find it difficult to accept that the CSAs concerned are not relevant to the subject matter of the Bill.

This live-in requirement has been made known to FDHs before their admission into Hong Kong, and specified in the Standard Employment Contract which is signed by both the employer and the FDH concerned beforehand.

Some education institutions maintain a register of reputable families prepared to board international students during the academic year.

The additional requirements resulted primarily from: (a) the acquisition of prefabricated facilities, water purification and air conditioning equipment, miscellaneous office equipment, and spare parts and supplies for the new offices and accommodation as a result of the earthquake; (b) the acquisition of additional generators to support power supply in internally displaced persons camps as well as for new contingents deployed immediately following the adoption of Security Council resolution 1908 (2010); (c) the acquisition of additional sea containers for the shipment of the additional equipment to Haiti; (d) the increase in the average cost of diesel fuel to $0.60 per litre compared to the budgeted cost of $0.47 per litre; (e) projected requirements for the settlement of past claims by the Mission fuel supplier, pending the outcome of the Mission legal review; and (f) requirements to provide staff accommodation on a naval vessel following the earthquake.

According to sections 30(5) and 30A(5) of the Ordinance, should the deduction for elderly residential care expenses be allowed to a taxpayer, the taxpayer or any other person is not entitled to claim dependent parent/grandparent allowances for the same parent/grandparent for the same year of assessment.

In addition, Tajikistan reported that it is preparing to conduct a needs assessment of landmine and other ERW victims in mine affected districts with the main goal being to establish a functional victim information system (VIS), which would comply with the Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA) standards and become a systematic and reliable mechanism at the district and oblast level.

Pending a full evaluation of the experience gained with and the results attained by the various CCT projects carried out during the 31 C/5 and 32 C/5, the Director-General recommends to continue during the 33 C/5 only a limited number of ongoing CCT projects which have demonstrably shown effectiveness and results in particular at the field level as well as the use of innovative modalities and approaches, but not to add new CCT projects.
