Under the provisions of article 11 (Packaging and labelling of tobacco products), parties are required to regulate the labelling and packaging of tobacco products, to include strong health warnings about the dangers of tobacco use as well as ban the use of terms on packages that can be misleading and give the wrong impression that some products are less harmful than others (e.g., terms such as “light”, “mild”, etc.).
