The Audit recommended, among other things, that LCSD should : (a) ensure that each LCSD museum has a collection policy for the acquisition of collection items; (b) require each LCSD museum to regularly review and update its collection policy; (c) expedite action to finalise the procurement procedures for the acquisition of collection items; (d) draw up an action plan to clear the backlog of collection items pending accession; (e) critically review the overall storage requirements of LCSD museums and expedite action to develop a central museum collection repository; and (f) ensure that action is taken by the Hong Kong Museum of History to promptly upload information items on its website for public access.

These matters include the establishment of a framework, called the Qualifications Framework (QF), which contains a structure of levels of qualifications; establishment of the Accreditation Authority responsible for developing and implementing the standards and mechanism for academic or vocational qualifications accreditation to underpin QF; establishment of a Qualifications Register (QR) for entering qualifications recognized under QF to be maintained by the QR Authority; and the establishment of an Appeal Board to consider appeals against QF-related decisions and determinations made by the Accreditation Authority or the QR Authority.

These financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, except that financial assets at fair value through profit or loss are carried at their fair values.

As (i) the Reserve Reports were issued by licensed evaluator on the list of Ministry of Land and Resources of the PRC under Geology and Mineral Resources Industry Standard of the PRC, (ii) the Valuer has the relevant experiences and qualification to understand the Reserve Report based on our assessment stated in the paragraphs headed ‘‘Profile of the Valuer and the valuation standards adopted by the Valuer’’ and the representation from the Valuer and (iii) the Valuer has conducted due diligence regarding the Reserve Reports, we consider as stated above that it is justifiable for the Valuer to adopt the information of the Reserve Reports and use the multi-period excess earnings method in forming his opinion on the fair value of the mining right.

The Annual Caps for the royalty payable by JVCo to Philips under the Trademark License Agreement were determined by the Company after taking into account, amongst other things, (i) the Group’s estimates for the increase in the future demand for the Scope Products, which was determined with reference to the historical and estimated future demand and production trend for the Scope Products; (ii) the prospects, outlook and the competitive environment of the global market for the Scope Products; (iii) the pricing trend for the Scope Products; and (iv) additional buffers to cater for possible fluctuation of materials costs as a result of possible changes in market conditions.

On the other hand, among voters with primary education or below, only 12% said their propensity would increase because the candidate they supported ranked front on the list, while 5% with decreased propensity because the candidate they supported ranked rear.

It has policies in place to ensure that sales of products including properties are made to customers with an appropriate credit history and letters of credit are used as appropriate.

Evidence of impairment may include indications that a debtor or a group of debtors is experiencing significant financial difficulty, default or delinquency in interest or principal payments, the probability that they will enter bankruptcy or other financial reorganisation and observable data indicating that there is a measurable decrease in the estimated future cash flows, such as changes in arrears or economic conditions that correlate with defaults.
