Mr. Rahlff is at the moment working on the planning and development for 726 new student flats at Grønneviksøren in Bergen.

Contributed yearly inputs for the annual letter of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund to all participants and beneficiaries.

The first brainstorming session on the UNESCO Strategy on Philosophy was organized at Headquarters with the participation of representatives of 53 Permanent Delegations to identify the key issues which should be included in the Strategy.

Through our involvement, BP will assist in advising the School, support 14 BP Fellows each year as part of the program, and engage with successive cadres of Scholars.

Three seminars have been organized (or co-organized) in 2003: (i) “Poverty as a violation of human rights: Risks and possibilities”, 24 June 2002 in Paris, with three scholars in philosophy and human rights law from Columbia University, Essex University and the London School of Economics; (ii) a brainstorming session with the Special Rapporteur to the United Nations on the Right to Housing, with participation from the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights and the International Institute on Anti-Poverty (United States); and (iii) a conference on “Poverty and Human Rights” in cooperation with the International Federation of Philosophical Societies.

Over the last year, CNNIC kept close track of the medium- and long-term development plans of Internet, IPv6 technology and next-generation Internet, mobile Internet, Internet of things, e-government, e-commerce and information network security as well as the latest laws and regulations regarding Internet governance and regulation and real-world practices in the main countries and regions of the world, and provided to relevant departments suggestions and supports concerning policies based on our national conditions and the experience of other countries, manifesting the responsibility, obligation and public interests undertaken by CNNIC as the national Internet information center.

Intergovernmental organizations such as UNCTAD and ITU were considered as key platforms for regulators and other stakeholders to provide inputs into multilateral and regional negotiations.

UNAMID has a key role to play with respect to the inputs from civil society in the ongoing talks, the design of ceasefire implementation mechanisms and the actual implementation of those agreements.

It also attended the fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth sessions of the Human Rights Council, at which it contributed information on issues such as: (a) the promotion and protection of all human rights; (b) human rights and their effects on children; (c) strengthening the protection of all human rights; (d) violations of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories; and (e) human rights situations that require the Council’s attention.

The decision requested the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in his capacity as Chair of the Environment Management Group, “to invite the United Nations system to provide input to the group”, and requested the consultative group, through the UNEP secretariat, “to seek relevant inputs from civil society groups from each region”.

The establishment of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women), once adequately funded, and with advice from women’s human rights defenders, offers Governments and civil society new possibilities for effectively advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women.

Providers need to be proactive in promoting progress at the national level, and non-Development Assistance Committee providers should be encouraged to contribute their own ideas for targets to improve aid quality.

The Year of Quality will involve a series of activities like the quality seminar among ordinary employees, the QCC team's proposal improvement and result release, the initiation of improvement project for significant quality problems, the quality knowledge contest, and the appraisal and selection of quality pacesetter. All these activities are intended to set quality improvement as a dominant theme in 2013, involve all the ordinary employees in quality improvement efforts, develop the deep-rooted quality awareness with every employee, increase quality management level effectively and raise the company's quality brand image and core competitiveness.
