Its findings call for long-term investment in social science capacitybuilding and point to disparities in research capacities in the world and set a new global agenda to promote social sciences as an invaluable tool for the advancement of all Internationally Agreed Development Goals, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

These studies concern: the indivisibility, interrelation and interdependence of all human rights; the enforceability of economic, social and cultural rights; the state of the art with regard to indicators to measure the implementation of economic, social and cultural rights and in particular the right to education and the right to take part in cultural life and the right to education.

Expressing grave concern about the continuation by Israel, the occupying Power, of settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in violation of international humanitarian law, relevant United Nations resolutions and the agreements reached between the parties, and concerned particularly about Israel’s construction and expansion of settlements in and around occupied East Jerusalem, including its so-called E-1 plan that aims to connect its illegal settlements around and further isolate occupied East Jerusalem, the continuing demolition of Palestinian homes and eviction of Palestinian families from the city, and intensifying settlement activities in the Jordan Valley

It was highlighted in particular that the Intersessional Work Programme must remain an inclusive process with all interested actors permitted to have the opportunity to take part in discussions on the pursuit of the Convention’s core aims and that the Intersessional Work Programme must remain a uniquely cooperative and collegial process with any adjustments to the work programme not diminishing this cooperative spirit.

Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls are central to achieving better development outcomes, including all the internationally agreed development goals as well as the Millennium Development Goals.

As the numerous doctrinal subjects belonging to this section of theology will be treated ex professo under their several proper titles, it is proposed in this article merely to take such a view of the whole field as will serve to indicate the place of eschatology in the general framework of religion, explain its subject-matter and the outlines of its content in the various religions of mankind, and illustrate by comparison the superiority of Christian eschatological teaching.

Still on the subject of the English version, though not in relation to a term used in the previous texts, since it does not appear in them, we feel that an unfortunate adjective is used in the heading of section II B.3: perhaps the phrase would be equally satisfactory with the deletion of the word “substantive”.
