The inordinate length of translation times, especially in cases of selfrepresented appellants, calls for greater explanation than suitable for a report of this size, but it can be said that efforts are under way to more effectively liaise with the supervisors in the Conference and Language Services Section on a continual basis in order to assess progress and determine the need for requesting prioritization of specific translations, and to readdress the internal requirement of the Conference and Language Services Section that the revision process for translation of a judgement must be accomplished as a whole, rather than volume by volume (which would allow for gradual release of translated portions).

The Board compared the amounts per the line items in the note disclosure for accounts payable in UNRWA financial statements (note 4) and accounts receivable in UNRWA Provident Fund financial statements (note 6) and noted that although the opening and closing balances agreed, the activities recorded during the biennium did not agree on a line-by-line basis.

The Secretariat will continue to closely monitor the actual staff cost expenditures and needs, and if necessary will return with a proposal to transfer Part IV funds for these items at the next Executive Board session.

Consequently, Annex I (Revised Appropriation Table) provides a summary of all budgetary adjustments and transfers made between appropriation lines, including those relating to Part IV and the reserve for reclassification/merit-based promotions.

This circular is to provide the shareholders with (i) further information on the Share Subdivision and the Board Lot Change and the re-election of directors of the Company; (ii) the explanatory statement as required under the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the ‘‘Listing Rules’’); and (iii) further information of the final dividend to be declared by the Company and all other information reasonably necessary to enable them to make an informed decision on whether to vote for or against the resolutions as mentioned herein and which, inter alia, will be dealt with at the annual general meeting of the Company to be held at Queensway and Victoria Room, Level 3, J.W. Marriott Hotel, Queensway, Hong Kong on Monday, 23 May 2011 at 2 : 00 p.m. (the ‘‘Annual General Meeting’’).

Subject to Section 88 of the Act and Bye-law 153A, a printed copy of the Directors’ report, accompanied by the balance sheet and profit and loss account, including every document required by law to be annexed thereto, made up to the end of the applicable financial year and containing a summary of the assets and liabilities of the Company under convenient heads and a statement of income and expenditure, together with a copy of the Auditors’ report, shall be sent to each person entitled thereto at least twenty-one (21) days before the date of the annual general meeting and laid before the Company in annual general meeting in accordance with the requirements of the Act provided that this Bye-law shall not require a copy of those documents to be sent to any person whose address the Company is not aware of or to more than one of the joint holders of any shares or debentures.
