The Committee decided to point out to the government concerned that the Committee was not in any way trying to set itself up as an international supreme court, but was merely attempting, for purely humanitarian reasons, to establish a dialogue with the governments concerned in order to consider with them what might be done on behalf of alleged victims in the event of their having suffered violations of human rights in UNESCO’s fields of competence (135 EX/3 PRIV., para. 156).
