The region had to be more innovative and more catalytic, and should lead by advocacy, build new capacities, and empower people and nations to come together and to advance together.

Home and host countries should recognize that migrant associations can make multiple contributions to the development of local communities, on account of migrant associations’ solidarity with their homeland, knowledge of local realities and needs, long-term commitment and respect of local and traditional values.
