At this stage, the preparation of the preliminary draft Convention has benefited from the contributions of various meetings of experts. The first meeting was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 22 to 24 January, and was followed in March and June by drafting sessions at Headquarters, with experts in both law and anthropology.

Slovakia deemed this framework sufficient and did not foresee any new legal instrument.
