In that respect, the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran informed the Commission that the railway section from Gorgan to Inche-Boroun (82 km) in Iranian territory would be completed by the end of 2012.

The Executive Board, in 180 EX/Decision 58, proposed to take the pioneering and everpertinent message of Tagore, Neruda and Césaire as the starting point for engaging the Organization in substantial reflection and renewed action on a universal reconciled with diversity in keeping with UNESCO’s intellectual watch mandate within the United Nations system since the adoption of the Organization’s Constitution in 1945.

I request that the present letter and the attached statement of the Foreign Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (see annex), in response to the letter of the representative of Azerbaijan, be circulated as an official document of the General Assembly, under agenda items 35 and 39, and of the Security Council.

The money from the Award has been used to achieve various objectives, including furnishing a handiwork classroom, purchasing furniture for dormitories, providing skills teaching and most ambitious of all, funding the creation of a second centre for girls in Ongole.

As a common principle and being committed to the objective of building a democratic society based on rule of law, the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic have unilaterally acceded to the fundamental instruments of international law and transposed these instruments into their own legislation.

We also commend the continuing efforts of the OSCE's Minsk Group in addressing the long-running Nagorno Karabakh conflict and look forward to working closely with the co-Chairs and other members of the Minsk Group during the year.

The ongoing armed conflict in and around the Nagorny-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan has resulted in the occupation of almost one fifth of the territory of Azerbaijan and made approximately one out of every eight people in the country a refugee or internally displaced person.
