The Secretary-General rightly highlights in his report (S/2012/72) the positive rhetoric used by leaders in Pristina and Belgrade, which we welcome.

These matters have been appropriately raised in the aforementioned letter to the Director- General.

Being a wealthy developed city willing to share global responsibilities, the Government should provide financial assistance to the poorer regions, on behalf of the entire community.

It outlines the major achievements of the Mission, which is a fitting tribute to the work and commitment of its personnel as well as the staff of other United Nations entities.

The Commission may wish to comment on the issues and challenges identified in making trade and investment work for inclusive and sustainable development; priority actions and policy measures identified by the secretariat for further consideration at the national, regional and global levels; and the appropriateness of the work of the secretariat in addressing these challenges.

The Committee reiterates its previous concluding observations (CERD/C/ISR/CO/13, para. 16) and recommends that the State party ensure that the prohibition of racial discrimination and the principle of equality are included in the Basic Law and that a definition of racial discrimination is duly incorporated into the Law.
