UNAMID has made significant strides towards full deployment and, during the 2011/12 period, will focus on the following priorities: (a) the protection of civilians, ensuring safe, timely and unhindered humanitarian access, and ensuring the safety and security of humanitarian personnel and activities; (b) the promotion of the peace process and implementation of a comprehensive agreement and sustained ceasefire, once achieved; (c) support related to the rule of law, including the strengthening of the judiciary and prison system, and through human rights and gender capacitybuilding; and (d) the early recovery and reconstruction assistance, through the provision of area security for the United Nations country team and other humanitarian partners.

Following several assessments from local social agents, it’s reported that the girls live in good conditions and have expressed their wish to remain with their mother, as several documents attached will prove.

We are also pleased to see certain issues broughtintothemainstreamofourdeliberations —issues that had been insufficiently elaborated on in previous reports, such as the limited access to humanitarian assistance by people in need of food, water and medical supplies; attacks on humanitarian personnel, health centres and ambulances transporting the wounded to such centres; the kidnapping of humanitarian workers; the difficult situation faced by migrant workers and their families in situations of conflict; and the theft of equipment and provisions intended to be used for humanitarian assistance.

(b) At an intermediate level the causes include denial by the State of the practice of torture combined with impunity enjoyed by the perpetrators of torture and ill-treatment, who are in many cases actually rewarded by the political and/or economic powers; the failure to report acts of torture and ill-treatment, lack of protection for victims of torture and the absence of redress; a failure to align domestic legal frameworks with the international norms that prohibit torture and provide safeguards for persons deprived of their liberty, coupled, very often, with a failure to apply regulations in those cases where they exist; the inadequate human rights training provided to members of the judiciary, prison personnel, law enforcement officials, health-care professionals, social workers and teachers, etc.; and the links between torture and corruption

A very special part of the Academy is its committees, the Academy’s network of 107 committees constituting a major representation of all researchers in Poland.

The Committee recommends that the State party transmit the concluding observations for consideration and action to members of the Government and Parliament, officials in the relevant Ministries, the Judiciary and members of relevant professional groups, such as education, medical and legal professionals, as well as to local authorities, the private sector, and the media, using modern social communication strategies.

By engaging in a dialogue with women and their families, healthcare providers have the opportunity to understand better the structural, economic, cultural or legal problems faced by families and can begin to consider how their services can be rendered in a way that empowers women and their families to be the protagonists of their development.

It also recommends the reinforcement of adequate and systematic training of all professional groups working for and with children, in particular law enforcement officials, immigration officials, media, teachers, health personnel, social workers and personnel of childcare institutions.
