The negative impacts of these outcomes for adolescents are well known and are recognized as being most devastating for young women and girls.

It is worrisome to note that the Council’s only activities in regard to the Palestinian issue are its quarterly open debates, where even spirited and well-drafted statements fail to cure the somnambulance of their audience, which knows only too well that the stalemate is as immutable as the proverbial North Star.

As members know very well, Egypt is in a unique situation as far as the current events are concerned, as the immediately adjacent neighbour of the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli aggression is taking place, and because its central role in having helped the Israelis and Palestinians attain a period of calm that lasted six months until just one week before the aggression and despite violations by both sides.

The new section 2A provides that if any representation is made by the manufacturer or importer of a product that the product may be used as two or more regulated products, the provisions applicable to each of those regulated products apply to the product.

In section V, paragraph 11, of the same resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to seek a more effective strategy to fill current and future language post vacancies at all duty stations in a timely manner, took note of paragraph 92 of the report of the Secretary-General on the pattern of conferences (A/63/119 and Corr.1), and also requested the Secretary-General to hold the competitive examinations for the recruitment of language staff referred to in that paragraph, as well as other examinations beyond 2009, well in advance so as to fill current and future language post vacancies at all duty stations in a timely manner, and to inform the Assembly at its sixty-fourth session of efforts in that regard.

To address the concerns, the legal adviser to the Bills Committee has suggested that if members wish to make it clear that the parameters in the proposed sections 36(2BA)13 and 39J(4) should not affect the imposition of life-disqualification on any other traffic offences that are provided in other ordinances, these sections may be amended by adding words to the effect that each subsection is not to be construed as limiting the power of the court or magistrate to impose life disqualification under other road traffic legislation.

The Chairman (if any) of the Board or, if he is absent or declines to take the chair at such meeting, the Deputy Chairman (if any) shall take the chair at every general meeting, or, if there be no such Chairman or Deputy Chairman, or, if at any general meeting neither of such Chairman or Deputy Chairman is present within fifteen minutes after the time appointed for holding such meeting, or both such persons decline to take the chair at such meeting, the Board present shall choose one of their number as Chairman, and if no Director be present, or if all the Board present decline to take the chair, or if the Chairman chosen shall retire from the chair, then the members present shall choose one of their own number to be Chairman.

Information should indicate not only recurrent and non-recurrent publications, as is currently the practice, but should also differentiate between the number of publications proposed to be issued in print version, electronic version or both.

In accordance with article 11 of the Rules and Regulations, claims are eligible for inclusion in the Register if: (a) the claimant is a natural or legal person; (b) the claimant has substantially met the technical requirements for submitting a claim; (c) the claim is within the jurisdiction of the Register of Damage; (d) the claimant has established a legal interest in the claimed damage; (e) the claimed damage is material; (f) the claimant has established a causal link between the claimed damage and the construction of the Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory; (g) the claimed damage was in fact sustained; (h) the documents and assertions in support of the claim are substantially consistent; and (i) the claim has been established prima facie, based on the information and documents submitted by the claimant, giving the claimant the benefit of the doubt in appropriate cases and bearing in mind the varying circumstances with regard to title and residency status of claimants.
