Under “Youth mobilization and development in Beirut and its suburbs”, the Foundation worked with different partners on the rehabilitation of the physical infrastructure in two urban slums in Beirut, in conjunction with finding a solution for a number of environmental problems such as wastes coming out of the illegal butcheries and clogged sewers.

Mechanisms enabling the participation of indigenous peoples in external, nonindigenous decision-making processes can be problematic for various reasons; they may operate in environments where indigenous peoples are politically, socially and economically non dominant and, while they enhance indigenous peoples’ participation, they do not go so far as to level the playing field with non-indigenous individuals and peoples; they do not allow greater indigenous influence over decisions in practice; because they are poorly implemented, or suffer from previously unforeseeable problems; or because they privilege the participation of certain indigenous individuals over that of others, creating concerns about their ability to achieve equality between individuals.

Nevertheless, it is difficult to vindicate the present international financial order dictated by the US dollar.

Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha will be observed in September and November 2011 (exact dates to be determined), respectively.

Finally, the Committee is concerned over reports indicating the sale of children for sacrifices and the ritual killings.

Regarding the two official holidays Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr, once the exact dates become known, as with other official United Nations holidays, no official meetings will be scheduled on those days.

Furthermore, the Committee recommends that the State party comply with the recommendation of the Uganda Human Rights Commission to hold a public inquiry to investigate reports indicating the sale of childrenfor sacrifices and ritual killings.

While CNDP generally complied with the first phase of reorganization into regiments in North and South Kivu, Bosco Ntaganda has sought to dominatethe decision-making regarding the composition, command structure and deployments of the second phase, which was set to begin in May 2011.
