UNESCO was called upon to develop further the conceptual aspects related to both the Delors and the Pérez de Cuéllar Reports in the light of the cultural consequences of globalization in a rapidly changing world, including increased cultural vulnerability.

Armenia welcomed the joint statements on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict by the Presidents of Russia, the United States of America and France at the Group of Eight Summits in L’Aquila (2009), Muskoka (2010) and Deauville (2011), and clearly stated its readiness to move forward on the basis of the principles and elements contained in those statements, showing that the approaches of the international community are in line with the approaches of Armenia.

Efforts to make WFP country operations more effective and efficient and to support the work of United Nations country teams with Governments are essential to ensuring the best possible support to national priorities and country-led strategies, in line with the Paris Declaration principles, the Accra Accord, the summit of the G-8 at L’Aquila, Italy, and the 2009 World Food Summit in Rome.

In accordance with the Working Group’s methods of work, the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island received a copy of the case concerning Mr. Mustapha Setmariam Nassar, a Spanish citizen of Syrian origin, who was allegedly abducted in October 2005 in Quetta, Pakistan, by Pakistani intelligence agents.

In Pakistan, advocacy tools have been developed with the collaboration of the Directorate of Literacy and Non-Formal Education, which was established under the Government of Baluchistanin Quetta, and a study was conducted on Reflective Learning Centres as a good delivery mechanism for reaching adolescents girls in rural areas in Pakistan.
