(Bosnia and Herzegovina): Let me first thank the Secretary-General for his detailed report on the latest developments in Afghanistan and the United Nations activities in the country (S/2010/318).

(Slovenia) said that, since the Non-Proliferation Treaty was the cornerstone of international peace, security and stability, States parties to the Treaty must do their utmost to preserve its integrity and to strengthen its future role with a view to the universal acceptance and implementation of all its objectives.

The Executive Board elected as President Ms. Sanja Štiglic, Permanent Representative of Slovenia to the United Nations; and as Vice-Presidents, Mr. Daffa-Alla Elhag Ali Osman, Permanent Representative of the Sudan to the United Nations; Mr. Peter van der Vliet, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Permanent Mission of the Netherlands to the United Nations; Ms. Gillian Joseph, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Nations; and Ms. Grata Werdaningtyas, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the United Nations.

At its 48th plenary meeting, on 19 November 2009, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the Fifth Committee,7 appointed the following persons as members of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions for a three-year term of office beginning on 1 January 2010: Ms. Jasminka Dinić, Mr. Collen V. Kelapile, Mr. Stafford O. Neil, Mr. Mohammad Mustafa Tal and Ms. Nonye Udo.

Yemen recalled the recent Israeli attack against the Gaza strip and indicated that Israel has ignored recommendations since 1948 and so it is not surprising that it will ignore the largest number of UPR recommendations, specially those related to putting an end to the occupation in all occupied Palestinian and Arab territories and to recognizing the right of Palestinian people to self-determination, to an independent sovereign state with Jerusalem as a capital, and to the right of return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland and their right to compensation and restitution of their properties.

(E) Where arrangements are under consideration concerning the appointment (including the arrangement or variation of the terms thereof, or the termination thereof) of two or more Directors to offices or places of profit with the Company or any other company in which the Company is interested, a separate resolution may be put in relation to each Director and in such case each of the Directors concerned shall be entitled to vote (and be counted in the quorum) in respect of each resolution except that concerning his own appointment (or the arrangement or variation of the terms thereof, or the termination thereof) and except (in the case of an office or place of profit with any such other company as aforesaid) where the other company is a company in which the Director together with any of his associates owns five (5) per cent or more of the issued shares of any class of the equity share capital of such company or of the voting rights of any class of shares of such company.

The project “Strengthening technical and content capacity of the local broadcaster TV Nalchik” (Kabardino Balkaria, Russian Federation) provided the local television station with both technical and creative capacity to produce and broadcast television programmes aimed to contribute to the process of strengthening peace and tolerance in the region, to articulate independent views and opinions of youth on the major social and economic issues.
